Experience
Our curriculum was developed in the early 1990s and launched for use in Classical Latin Schools®, of which St. Sophia is one, in 1998. Classical Latin Schools® undergo continuous process improvement providing an excellent education.
Classical
A classical education gives our students a foundation for understanding the philosophical and historical context of their Christian cultural heritage. Classical education is the cultivation of wisdom and virtue through meditation on the Good, the True, and the Beautiful. This is accomplished in two ways: first, through training in the liberal arts; and secondly, through a familiarity with the great books and the great thinkers of the past.
Christian
Teachers at St. Sophia are on a mission to assist families in their goal to grow children into adults that reflect the light of the love of Christ into the darkness they will encounter, to teach them to dwell on what is true, virtuous and beautiful and to live for the Glory of God and the benefit of others.
Traditional
In traditional classrooms, students are gently led by an experienced, loving teacher into greater and deeper knowledge. In upper grades, students engage in passionate discussion and debate with their peers guided by a master teacher. Teachers not only instruct students but guide them in learning to live their Christian faith by example.
